-How They Charge Exorbitant Fee But Issue Substandard Passport-

Nigerians applying for the new e-passport are facing untold hardship due to the inefficiency of the Nigerian Immigration Service since the introduction of the new travelling passport scheme.

Gathered that the bane of the e-passport is the way and manner the men and women of the Immigration Service are handling its production by churning out substandard passports that are being daily rejected by foreign embassies who always detect the deficiency.

A victim of the substandard passport who spoke to us said that this inefficiency has caused many Nigerians untold hardship and brought to them pains because when the passport is rejected by an embassy they would not immediately get the visa back and consequently would not be able to travel out of the country early because they are often told to bring another passport.

However, getting another passport is like starting afresh again, because most times the immigration officials always demand for another N15,000 before they can re -issue another one.

Those who paid the normal fee which is not up to N9,500  always ended up not getting the passport for months and right now, Nigerians don’t even know the exact amount the Immigration Service is supposed to charge for a passport since everybody is used to paying an exorbitant amount simply to get the passport early.
