Adenuga's Men Investigates Glo Ambassador, Olisa Adibua Over Assault
Management of Globacom, the telecommunication company owned by one of nation’s richest men Otunba Mike Adenuga are said to be investigating the recent case against serial assaulter, Olisa Adibua.
The popular On Air Personality was accused- with pictorial evidences – of battering a colleague, Oyekanmi Adewunmi, at their Lagos Office.
Adewunmi, a news Editor at Naija F.M, sister station to Beat F.M and Classic F.M was said to be resting on the office couch, at about 2.00a.m Thursday, September 08 2011 when Olisa walked in and battered him.
The offence was that Adewunmi had the effrontery to sleep on the office couch!
Olisa was said to have hit him severally with objects at his disposal, tore his clothes to shreds, smashed his phone and threw him out of the office complex.
The assaulted was said to have restrained from hitting his boss back.
The victim reportedly stayed outside the gate till about 5.30/6.00a.m before securing entry into the compound.
He later made official complaint to the management and was given fifteen thousand naira to go take care of himself at the hospital!
And contrary to company’s rule book on office violence of such extent- Olisa was placed on a four weeks suspension and punishment for his crime!
Public uproar has trailed the development- especially Beat F.M’s management handling of the situation- since the news broke.
And the egg heads at Glo, very particular about doing the correct thing and being above board at all times have started to worry about their continuous association with controversy riddled Olisa Adibua.
The suspended On Air Personality and Assaulter is a brand Ambassador for Globacom as resident judge of talent hunt show, Glo Naija Sing.
Glo brand handlers are said to be asking around about the incident and the manner it was handled, trying to decide what decision to take on the future of Adibua’s association with the company.
Sources divulged that the poking around the issue by Glo investigators is part of the reasons for the hurried make up between Adibua and Adewunmi.
Olisa- severely beaten up by Actor Jim Lyke for assaulting his girlfriend in a night club- was said to have initiated the peace move via coercion.
Adewunmi was allegedly threatened with all sorts if he doesn’t publicly make up with Olisa- to help redeem the latter’s image.
The threat were allegedly made directly by Olisa and backed by ‘strange’ calls from people suspected to be his acolytes.
And to clamp up the whole deal- Adewunmi and Olisa were directed not to make anymore public comments on the issue.
Insiders revealed to douse the tension over it handling of the situation, the management issued a statement that Olisa’s suspension is just an initial action to allow proper investigation that would determine a final outcome. The ‘shut up’ order was explained in the same manner.
